Simons

Simons is recognized as a fashion authority with a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. Simons also carries home fashions for the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen.

Simons was founded in 1840 by John Simons as a dry goods store in Quebec City and has since built its reputation on being an accessible and inspired fashion brand. Simons is led by brothers Peter and Richard Simons who carry on the family legacy and the brand’s commitment to cultivating creativity and building meaningful relationships with staff, partners, and customers while also being concerned about the environment and the communities in which they do business.

Simons is branching out and offering our unique selection of fashion items to customers all over Canada via the web to spur new growth. In store or online, the same passion transmitted from generation to generation drives the entire Simons team: offer Canadians trendsetting fashions, a totally inspiring environment, and extraordinary customer service.

To commemorate the founding of Quebec City, the Simons family wanted to give their fellow citizens a gift that would show their love for the city that welcomed their ancestors. Found in a Paris antique store, the Fontaine de Tourny is today installed right in front of Quebec’s national assembly, where it is an exquisite focal point for the parliamentary grounds. This antique urban treasure was created by Mathurin Moreau and Alexandre lambert, a pair of sculptors renowned throughout Europe in the 19th century. Winner of a gold medal at the 1855 Paris world's fair, the sculpture was cast to celebrate the first water supply system in Bordeaux. After a complete restoration, it was inaugurated in July 2007 to kick off Quebec’s 400th anniversary celebrations.

Do you know that Simons is at the forefront of protecting the environment and minimizing environmental pollution? The issue of climate change is a big concern and an integral part of their corporate ethics. They utilize Lyocell, a cellulosic fibre made from wood pulps that comes from certified sources. Their closed-loop manufacturing process also ensures that zero or minimal waste is generated during production. Beyond environmental conservation, Simons is promoting arts by enabling people of diverse cultures to express their innermost personalities through fashion.
