Metro Inc. is a popular supermarket chain with locations in Quebec and Ontario. There are over 950 food stores and 650 drugstores. The company is based in Montreal, Quebec with head office at 11011 Boulevard Maurice-Duplessis. Metro is the third largest grocer in Canada.
Metro - History
Founded in 1947 in Quebec, Metro attracted many independent stores to join the company. Within five years, there were 43 affiliated stores. They continued to grow and went through a series of mergers and acquisitions, and currently operates stores under multiple banner stores, including Metro, Metro Plus, Super C, Food Basics, Marche Ami, and others. In 1993, Metro entered the Toronto Stock Exchange and has been publicly traded ever since

Metro offers discounts and promotions through online and in store weekly flyers. They also have a Metro Thunder Bucks card, which is free to enroll in, and you can earn points on every purchase. Thunder Bucks also provides you with personalized coupons, a personalized flyer, and your frequent purchases added to your shopping list.
